Camilla Hartzler Named Principal of Alternative Education

We are excited to announce that Camilla Hartzler has accepted the position of Principal of Alternative Education, effective July 1, 2025. Hartzler has served as Assistant Principal at Dodge City High School since 2013. She began her career in education at Haven High School in 1995. In 1997, she joined Dodge City Public Schools, where she taught physical education and coached athletics.
Hartzler received her Bachelor of Science degree from Evangel University in 1995 and her Master of Science in Building Administration/Leadership from Fort Hays State University in 2012.
Hartzler grew up in Spearville, where both of her parents were educators. They instilled in her a deep appreciation for the value of education and the importance of treating others with respect. She finds it most rewarding to see students grow and mature in ways that allow them to reach their goals. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, listening to audiobooks, and relaxing with a close-knit group of friends.
Matt Turner stated, “Camilla’s experience as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal makes this a natural transition to her new role as Principal of Alternative Education.”
Hartzler expressed her enthusiasm for the new position, saying, “I’m excited to continue my work with students and to help them grow and reach their potential.”
