Ross Elementary Library houses 10,215 books and materials that are available for check out to our over 500 students in grades K-5. All students also attend a 50 minute library lesson once a week where students are also allowed time to check out new materials. Ross Library also house resources, reading sets, and learning games that are available for staff to check out and use with our students. Meet Mrs. Fairbank
Dana Fairbank’s goal is to expose her students to great books, authors, and illustrators and pass on her love of reading to all who enter her library! This is her 23rd year in education at USD443 and her 15th ​year as a library media specialist. Mrs. Fairbank received her Bachelor’s in Education in 1999 and completed her Master’s in Education with a Library Endorsement in 2009. Currently, she teaches library lessons to grades K-5 at Ross Elementary and checks out over a 800 books a week to her 500 plus students. Personally, Mrs. Fairbank has been married to Jim Fairbank for 28 years. They have one daughter, Brandi, and a son-in-law, Gary, who live in Lindsborg, Kansas. Mrs. Fairbank also considers her three cats and dog to be part of her little family. Mrs. Fairbank feels that she is the luckiest person at the school as she gets to read great books at her job to amazing kids every day!
