BACKGROUND INFORMATION:   Each spring the Kansas Department of Education requires each district to administer state content summative assessments called the KAP.  In addition there are state requirements for language proficiency assessments called KELPA.  For the past four years USD 443 added the risk and diagnostic screener called FastBridge given to all students K-12 in literacy and Math. 

CURRENT CONSIDERATIONS:   This report has been provided to the Board and is a review of the 2021 and 2022 KAP, KELPA and Fast Bridge Data.  The report also includes an analysis of the data and subsequent recommendations for future action plans by district and building administration. 

Starting in 2022-23 school year each district is required to present the KAP data to the Board of Education in advance of the approval of the fiscal year budget.  This is a component of the statutory Needs Assessment process that includes the state assessment review but also building level needs assessment feedback and ultimately, alignment of the budget to support the needs assessment and student outcome data action plans.
