Positive Case

  • At least 5 days have passed since symptoms first appeared (day 0) or, with no symptoms, since positive specimen was collected (day 0); AND,
  • At least 24 hours have passed since fever was experienced and any fever-reducing medications were used, and other symptoms have improved; AND,
  • The person continues to wear a well-fitting mask around others for 5 additional days and avoids situations in which a mask cannot be worn, such as restaurants and some gyms, and eating around others at home and at work.
  • Those who cannot wear a mask must isolate for 10 days.

Close Contact (Within six feet of the Positive Case for 15 cumulative minutes or more)

  • Everyone who is a possible close contact should be notified and parents and staff should be given the following options:
    1. Stay/return to class and monitor for symptoms (provided they do not have any symptoms).
    2. Quarantine

Household Contact

  • A close household contact (someone in your household has COVID-19) should quarantine during the entirety of the person’s at home isolation period, which is a minimum of 5 days.
  • Then, the household contact will continue their own period of quarantine for an additional 5 days, followed by 5 days of masking with a well-fitting mask when indoors and outdoors when around others.
  • Those who cannot wear a mask must isolate for 10 days.
