The Payroll Department is responsible for paying approximately 1100 employees monthly. We issue over 15,000 paychecks and direct deposit advices each fiscal year.  The Payroll Department takes pride in serving staff, our customers, with fairness, honesty and professionalism.

Dodge City Public School District USD 443 is on a monthly payroll system; you are paid once every month. The normal pay day is on the 25th, however, if that day is a holiday or a weekend, you will receive your paycheck on the Friday prior to the 25th.

In addition to processing payroll the Payroll Department also:

  • Calculates monthly compensation in accordance with federal, state, district, and union regulations. The district currently has four distinct employee groups (e.g. substitutes).
  • Processes multiple rates of compensation and distribution codes for employees. 
  • Complies with reporting requirements of wages/hours to various state and federal agencies.
  • Calculates and withholds payments for over 100 different types of voluntary and mandatory deductions from employee paychecks.
