The advisor of the year award is for an advisor who has gone above and beyond to give to their students a life-changing experience in and outside the classroom and is committed to helping them gain that experience through SkillsUSA.  They are nominated by students and advisors within the SkillsUSA organization, and they demonstrate a continuous growing effort to give students the best set of education and skills that will help them succeed in the future. Often, advisors are going beyond the classroom time to give students that extra help and support to push students beyond their own expectations.
