John “Mike” Schartz Named Athletic Director at Comanche Middle School
Dodge City, KS — Comanche Middle School is pleased to announce that John “Mike” Schartz has been named Athletic Director, in addition to his current role as Assistant Principal. Schartz steps into this position as Justin Briggs transitions to Dodge City High School to serve as Activities Director.

“John has been very involved in our athletics and activities,” said Dr. Rachael Webb, Principal of Comanche Middle School. “It was a natural choice for us to move in this direction. His leadership and dedication to students make him an excellent fit for this role.”
Outside of school, Schartz enjoys a strong family connection to the community. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Tammy, a physical therapist for Common Spirit - Saint Catherine Hospital - Dodge City. Together, they have two sons, Tanner and Preston.
Schartz shared, “I would like to thank the Comanche building for trusting in me to take on this big role for our school. Activities and Athletics are a big role in the development of young people and I will work hard to represent Comanche and Dodge City. Thank you for this opportunity!”
Comanche Middle School looks forward to the continued growth of its athletic programs under Schartz’s leadership.
