MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of USD 443 is to prepare our students to be capable,
contributing participants in a changing world.
Dodge City Public Schools
Students:
USD 443's 2018-2019 Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade enrollment exceeds 7,000 students. Historically, Dodge City Public Schools enrollment continues to increase an average of 100 students per year.
USD 443 utilizes iPad technology with every student as part of a one-to-one initiative. Each student has access to an iPad in every classroom.
Student Achievement:
Student Achievement on the Kansas Assessment Program in Reading and Mathematics continues to increase.
USD 443 graduates attending Kansas college and universities consistently had higher GPA's (grade point averages) than the general college population.
USD 443 students participating in the ACT college testing program had an average composite (overall) score of 19.8.
Dozens of Dodge City High School students are concurrently enrolled at Dodge City Community College each semester.
Staff:
Dodge City Public Schools is the first in history to have back-to-back Kansas Teachers of the Year! Justin Coffey from Dodge City High School is the current Kansas Teacher of the Year, while Shannon Ralph, another Dodge City High School teacher, earned the honor in 2015.
Dodge City has had 10 Kansas Master Teachers in the last 15 years and 23 since 1955!
Approximately one third of all USD 443 teachers have more than 10 years teaching experience. Another third has four to ten years experience, and the final third has three or fewer years experience.
Approximately 40 percent of USD 443 teachers have master's degrees.
Facilities:
USD 443 successfully passed an $85.6 million bond issue in the summer of 2015. Work is almost complete on those projects.

- 1 accredited Pre-Kindergarten early childhood education center with Head Start Program
- 9 accredited elementary schools for kindergarten through 5th Grade
