Mrs. Martha Mendoza named Dodge City High School Principal

Dodge City, KS - Dodge City Public Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Martha Mendoza as the Dodge City High School Principal. The USD 443 Board of Education approved the recommendation presented by the selection committee and Dr. Dierksen, Superintendent of Schools. 

Mrs. Martha Mendoza was born in Durango, Mexico, and moved to the USA when she was eight years old. She credits her second-grade EL teacher for her love of learning. She made her believe she could accomplish anything by working hard even through life's obstacles. Mendoza moved to Dodge City with her family when she was 13 years old. She graduated from Dodge City High School in 1989.  

Mrs. Mendoza received her Associates of Arts from Dodge City Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Newman University and her Master of Science in Educational Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University where she is currently a doctoral candidate.

With extensive leadership experience, Mrs. Mendoza is uniquely qualified to lead Dodge City High School. She has served Dodge City Public Schools since 1993, where she has held various positions, including Tutor, Paraprofessional, Substitute Teacher, Teacher, Teacher Leader, EL Interventionist, Assistant Principal, and Principal. She was an Assistant Principal at Comanche Middle School for eight years and is now finishing her fourth year as the Principal at Beeson Elementary. Mrs. Mendoza has been an Adjunct Professor at Newman University and is serving as Co-Liaison for Kansas State University and USD 443 Dodge City Leadership Academy. She is locally involved in her community as an active board member for the Dodge City Family YMCA and the Dodge City/Ford County CFAB (Community Facilities Advisory Board).  

Mendoza holds a deep love for her community and a passion for all students, their families, and the staff members she serves. She is an advocate for high-quality public education.

I will work diligently to honor and continue the hard work that has been done and embrace new possibilities."  

Martha (Class of 1989) is married to Pancho (Class of 1987) and has three kids (Class of 2008, 2014, and 2021). Once a DEMON, ALWAYS A RED DEMON!
