Alternative School students made decorations for local businesses

In November and December the class of Scott Krominga’s at the Alternative School made snowflake decorations for our local businesses to celebrate the holiday season.  With the donations of clothes hangers from the people of Spearville, the students decorated the hangers and then took them to local businesses as a way of saying Thank You and establishing a positive relationship between them and the school.  The students created these snowflakes, knowing they had to visit a local business and deliver it to them.  Some went to fast food, some to retail stores.  But all of them were delivered to a Dodge City business of the student’s choice.
The Alternative School is working to broaden the opportunities for the students by doing projects like this using new technology at the school.  We have a 3-D printer, a heat press, and vinyl printer for our new projects, as well as a “Make-It” room for creation of these projects.
